Webituary
When every click felt like discovery — now just memory.
About
Webituary is a digital graveyard dedicated to preserving the memory of websites we once loved — and have now lost. From social networks and forums to quirky personal pages that defined an era, we honor their legacy by keeping a record of their existence.
Whether it was the first place you uploaded a photo, wrote a blog post, or met strangers online, chances are a part of your digital past now lives only in the archives. Webituary collects those fragments and invites anyone to submit a site they believe deserves to be remembered.
Each entry includes basic information such as launch and shutdown years, a brief description, user-submitted tags, and a preserved visual snapshot thanks to the Internet Archive and Thum.io.
This project is a tribute to the weird, beautiful, and forgotten corners of the early web — a space shaped by curiosity, creativity, and exploration. Thank you for visiting. If there's a site that meant something to you, we'd love for you to share it.
About our obituaries
Once a website is approved, its obituary, including the born and died dates as well as the tags, is automatically generated using AI. This ensures a consistent and thoughtful tribute, crafted based on the site's history and context.
Webituary is a personal, non-commercial archive. All logos and snapshots belong to their respective owners and are shown for archival and educational purposes only.
